Not Everyone Will Be a Fan. Move on!

Does everyone like you? No, seriously (and honestly), does everyone like and appreciate who you are and what you stand for?

The answer to that question is a hard “no” because all of us have personality traits and quirks that will rub some people the wrong way. It’s not a question of wrong or right, it’s the “stylistic” differences between people that some individuals can find very annoying.

I know I’m not for everyone and that used to get me unnerved. I’m upbeat and optimistic and I don’t understand how some people can find that disagreeable, but some folks do and over time, I have learned to accept it and move on with the understanding that I must be “true to me.”

Trust me, it’s been a journey!

Not everyone is going to get you. That’s the truth.

Here are some other truths:

Build your “tribe” of personal and business friends and resources, the individuals that appreciate you and “get” your personal brand, whatever that may be. You already have these contacts but make it a point to continue to grow a strong community that you support and who can support you.

Feel confident about who you are and what you stand for. It’s understandable to question yourself when you feel push back but it’s okay. Keep in mind that everyone has their own set of expectations and standards, and we can’t satisfy or meet everyone’s requirements.

Be comfortable in your own skin. We can’t be anyone else so you might as well be happy being you!
