Just One More!
It’s been a whirlwind, hasn’t it? Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hannukah, Christmas, and soon New Year’s Eve and Day.
It seems that this holiday season has gone on “forever,” yet it also seems as if it has gone by in a flash.
It would be an understatement to say that the holiday season has been different this year.
This isn’t to say that we didn’t have a great time, but still, it was definitely different.
My young daughters have gotten used to it and I’ve found that my attitude helps a lot.
Sure, I can get sad and depressed thinking about what we’re missing, but I can also choose to be joyous and optimistic and that’s always my plan. The girls pick up on my vibe and react to what they are seeing and hearing.
I love that they can mirror my mood so clearly, so it makes good Mom-sense to make sure my mood stays upbeat, especially when it involves holidays and celebrations.
We have 1 more (New Year’s Eve and Day), and then there is a break before the next big day comes up.
I’ll be glad. It’s time to get back to our “normal” schedule with fewer sweets, school, and “regular” activities.
But for now, I want them to enjoy every second of the holiday season because at 5 and 7 years old, why shouldn’t you?
Until we can toast the holidays together and in-person!
